Different Types Of Particle Counters – Part II

Here are some more types of particle counters:

Portable particle counters: This type of counter is equipped with more capabilities than a handheld device and yet it is still mobile. Portable particle counter can be placed on a bench, a desk, or a trolley. These are used for certifying, regular checks or continuously monitoring a cleanroom or other environment. It has additional features such as faster sampling times, filter scanning and temperature/relative humidity sampling. These devices can also be connected to a computer for archiving or analysis.

Remote particle counters: These are dedicated particle counter and are used to continuously monitor a fixed location typically inside a cleanroom or mini environment. It continuously counts particles and sends information to a facility monitoring system or a terminal. This way, multiple particle counters can be networked together and controlled from one particular location. With the help of data collected by this system, a facility monitoring system can integrate into a database and send messages to notify important people when conditions inside the cleanroom exceeds pre-determined environmental limits.

Liquid particle counters: These are used to determine the quality of the liquid. The size and numbers of the particles are used to establish whether the liquid is clean enough to be used for the designed application.
