Electric hot plates are designed specifically for use in the scientific industry as laboratory hot plates and may come equipped with more capabilities than a regular electric hot plate. For example, timers and temperature controllers may be much more precise for research requirements. Or, a laboratory electric hot plate may have surfaces such as ceramic, aluminum, stainless steel or cast iron for heavy industrial applications. Very elevated temperatures may be needed on laboratory hot plates due to certain requirements in the lab that are not required for home-type electric hot plates. This means safety, as always, is an important consideration with New Star’s line of fine instruments.
