There are many applications in the laboratory for the use of multiple vacuum filtration manifolds. Lab filtration manifolds or vacuum filtration manifolds may come in a variety of materials including plastic and stainless steel. Also, in the case of multiple vacuum manifolds, there may be a choice of up to 6 heads – but most commonly – 3 heads to accommodate a bank of filters from the same vacuum source. The filter attachments used in such a procedure range from glass filters to Millipore-type filter holders depending on the material to be captured. The vacuum filtration manifolds quite often are equipped with 2-way or 3-way valves and are designed to filter several samples simultaneously. PVC vacuum filtration manifolds are lightweight and resistant to acids while stainless steel lab filtration manifolds are autoclavable.
